About Stop Drinking Alcohol .com

Stop Drinking Alcohol .com is dedicated to helping you quit drinking, or drastically reduce your alcohol consumption to a bare minimum. The articles here offer free tips and ideas to help you become proactive and finally DO something about your alcoholism, instead of just worrying or wishing things were different in your life. Alcoholism is NOT a disease, or a weakness, or something you are powerless before. It is, in fact, a bad habit that you've developed over the years. And, just like other bad habits, it too can be broken and replaced with good habits that will lead you to a healthier, happier, and more joyous life.

My name is Paul and I have written the alcoholism articles on this website. The purpose of my articles is to help those who have a problem with alcoholism either learn how to stop drinking alcohol, or at least greatly reduce their desire to drink. Basically, I hope I can help you place alcohol at the bottom of your daily list of priorities - where it belongs.

I don't claim to be an expert on alcoholism, but I AM someone who has experienced years of drinking WAY too much in my own life. The articles here simply detail the steps I've taken to try and do something about my problem, or ideas I have that might be of use to you. Of course, you may be wondering why you should listen to me, as opposed to anyone else in your life. My answer is that you should be open to ALL possible solutions to your problem ... because you never know when one idea might "hit home" and help you overcome your addiction.

The articles on this site are NOT intended to convince the light to moderate drinker to completely stop drinking, as there is generally nothing unhealthy about a couple of drinks now and then. But of course, "moderate drinking" is a very slippery slope for many people, and the first thing that often disappears with alcohol abuse is a sense of judgment.

As is painfully obvious, some people simply have a lot of trouble stopping after that first or second drink, and have to keep on drinking and drinking to feed their addiction. For those that can not stop after one or two drinks, abstinence is the only answer.

Do You Need to Stop Drinking Alcohol?

But, what about you? Why are you here? You may have one part of your mind telling you that you are a moderate drinker, and therefor have no need to quit drinking - and yet another part of your mind recognizes that you DO have a drinking problem. A very serious drinking problem. Perhaps now is the time to take a rational look at your lifestyle, and actually DO something about it?

Perhaps your day today is what led you here. Maybe it was filled yet again with the fruits of alcoholism: wasted money, wasted time, petty arguments ... or even driving while intoxicated. Or, maybe something deeper finally rose to the surface ... such as a general sense of just being "sick and tired" of the alcoholic lifestyle. I need to stop drinking alcohol, you may have screamed in your head a thousand times, perhaps talking to God, perhaps to yourself. Or, perhaps you're here to try and find help for a friend or loved one?

Whatever the reason, you should feel good that you are actually taking a step to DO something about your situation instead of just WISHING things were different as so many others are prone to do. Change will come to those who seek it.

Here's the good news: IF you sincerely want to quit drinking, and IF you truly do want to change, then the articles on this website can be the first step toward helping you see that change in your life. These articles may not be perfect, and you might not find the best answer here on this website - but I can promise you that IF you keep looking for a solution to your problem, you will eventually find it.

Finally, please also realize that inside of you there is a better you. And the better you can't wait to get out and show all the talent, skills and personality that alcohol had hidden from the world. And as soon as you stop drinking alcohol - or reduce drinking to a bare minimum - the better you will truly look and feel, and your entire world will become a happier place.

Besides, isn't that what we all wanted in the first place?
